Commercial opportunities

Since its launch in early 2003, Verdict on Cars has grown steadily. It now achieves over 600,000 page impressions per month, making it a significant motoring magazine. The business model has been, firstly, to create top quality motoring content for syndication to third parties and, secondly, to create a consumer site in its own right.

Verdict as a Consumer Site

Despite having an advertising and promotion budget of precisely zero, Verdict on Cars has proved unexpectedly popular with the public. Through searches on Google, we are receiving over 250,000 page impressions a month, almost all of which are going to Road Tests. That means consumers looking for information on new cars are actively finding Verdict on Cars. While the number of page impressions on our site is lower than some other motoring sites, we are almost exclusively getting traffic from people researching new cars - exactly the people car manufacturers want to contact.

Because Verdict on Cars gets traffic from consumers actively searching for particular models, the road tests being visited are atypical for online motoring sites. We don't get many kids looking for Ferraris, but we get remarkable usage for practical cars. For example, in one recent month, we had over 1,200 views of road tests for Proton - and it is a similar story for other value brands.

Advertisers who want to find car buyers, as opposed to car dreamers, will find Verdict on Cars an extremely valuable source.
