Detroit's Big Three have announced they will not be attending this years Tokyo Show in October. Attending the show is "not one of our highest priorities", said a Ford spokesman, a view that was echoed by both GM and Chrysler. The announcement throws the Tokyo Show into further doubt as earlier in the week reports stated that Japan Automotive Manufacturers Associating (JAMA) was considering cancelling or downsizing the show. The US carmakers have just a small market prescence in Japan, accounting for around 6%. They are said to be focusing their attention on China.
